FORM Dance Projects and Riverside Theatres Present Dance Bites 2019
CLOE FOURNIER (AUSTRALIA/FRANCE)
Remain… They do DOT And The Enemy is… Sorry DOT It’s like we always say Sorry STOP Sorry RESET Sorry for being who we are Female REPEAT Female Just Female She says: “GO!”
In her latest dance-theatre ensemble work, Cloé Fournier re-evaluates the plasticity of the body as a technological landscape in scrutiny of the female form.
Fuelled by a science-fiction trans-human narrative, Fournier develops a movement aesthetic that blends and stretches contemporary and French folk-dance vocabularies to the extreme.
Mea Culpa displays an uncanny microcosm of seven female bodies exploring and exploiting the idea of the human machine: part-mechanical, part-human.
“…embodying the female form as the absolute centre of attention (Cloé Fournier) examines the metamorphosis of the female entity obliged to constantly adapt to a demanding society or to reconfigure, as a means of survival.” Mark G Nagle – Theatre Now 18/06/18
