WHO Marc Brew is one of the UK’s leading, pioneering, multi-disciplinary and inclusive theatre makers.
Marc Brew Company is a disabled led, queer trailblazing contemporary dance company that collaborates with diverse artists to create powerful & emotive dance productions for touring nationally and internationally that inspire and provoke change.
WHAT An 8-day workshop process, will use Our Bodies / Our Stories as a starting point, using taught movement sequences and creative tasks to build choreography.
“an Accident / a Life”, Marc’s semi-autobiographical collaboration with Belgian luminary Sidi Larbi Charkaoui is the current talk of the global festival circuit.

ACCESS FORM Dance Projects and Sydney Opera House continue to champion multi-inclusive spaces. Hence this workshop is a paid opportunity for performing artists both with and without disability. Participants will receive $100 AU p/day to partake.
Note: Access to this workshop is through a short EOI to be reviewed by industry representatives, including Sydney Opera House and FORM Dance. Submission due 21 June 2024. You will be notified 12 July 2024.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST Access to this workshop is through a simple Expression Of Interest and is open to dance artists with and without disability. Applications will be reviewed by industry representatives with and without disability.

Marc Brew Acclaimed International Choreographer and Artistic Director Marc Brew trained as a professional dancer at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School and The Australian Ballet School. He has been working in the UK and Internationally for over 24 years as a director, choreographer, dancer, teacher and speaker; with the Australian Ballet Company, State Theatre Ballet Company of South Africa, Infinity Dance Theatre, Candoco Dance Company and AXIS Dance Company. Marc was Associate Director with Scottish Dance Theatre, Associate Artistic Director with Ballet Cymru in Wales, Associate Artist in 2015 at Tramway Theatre in Glasgow and Artistic Director of AXIS Dance Company from 2017-2021.
Since 2008 Marc has been dedicating time to his own choreography with Marc Brew Company. Marc’s work has been toured to critical acclaim across the world. Marc was presented with a Centenary Medal for Outstanding Contribution as a dancer and choreographer. His work “Remember When” was nominated for an Isadora Duncan Dance Award for Best Performance (individual) and his solo work ”For Now, I am…” was listed in the Guardian’s Top 10 Dance Shows for 2016.
His recent choreographic commissions include: Hessisches Staats Ballett (Germany); The Ark (Ireland); CODA Oslo International Dance Festival (Norway); University of South Florida (USA); Restless (Aus); San Francisco Ballet Trainees (USA); Dancing Wheels (USA); Scottish Ballet and Indepen-dance (Scotland), Ballet Cymru (Wales); YDance (Scotland); AXIS Dance Company (USA); Candoco Dance Company (UK); Touch Compass (NZ); Amy Seiwert’s Imagery (USA); and Scottish Dance Theatre.
