Vanessa Marian Varghese
Vanessa Marian Varghese is a Sydney-based choreographer, movement director and writer whose work sits at the intersection of street dance, contemporary performance and storytelling. With a foundation in Indian classical dance and training across New York, Paris, Berlin, London, Tokyo, Brazil, India and Australia, her practice blends athleticism, humour and emotional honesty.
Over the past decade, Vanessa has worked internationally as a movement director on projects for Nike, Adidas, Apple, MTV, Samsung, Google and Victoria’s Secret, alongside artists including Troye Sivan, Flume, FKJ, The Avalanches, Nicolas Cage, Em Rata and The Inspired Unemployed. She is the founder of Groove Therapy and co-creator of the BAFTA-winning film They Saw The Sun First and Yeah The Boys, winner of Best Australian Short Film at Flickerfest 2024.
Stefan Hunt
Stefan Hunt is a Sydney-based director, writer and visual artist whose work blends cinematic storytelling, physical performance and distinctive visual world-building. Represented by Exit Films, Stefan has directed award-winning work across film, television and commercial projects, developing a reputation for creating emotionally resonant stories with humour, heart and striking visual craft.
His short film They Saw The Sun First won a BAFTA in 2021, while Yeah The Boys, co-created with Vanessa Marian Varghese, won Best Australian Short Film at Flickerfest 2024. His work has screened internationally and been recognised by Vimeo Staff Picks, the Webby Awards and leading film festivals worldwide. Stefan is currently developing Yeah The Boys into a major new live stage work exploring masculinity, friendship and the journey from boyhood to manhood.
