Sharp Short Dance 2022
Sharp Short Dance is FORM Dance Projects annual youth dance festival featuring short works by choreographers and dancers under the age of 21.
Sharp Short Dance inspires young performers to strive for their own artistic excellence and encourages active youth participation in all genres and traditions of dance and media. This year the festival expands with exciting dance film content and digital media.
Sharp Short Dance is a Western Sydney-based event that celebrates young talent. Entries however will be accepted from across Australia.

Sharp Short Dance LIVE
Over the season more than fifty dance works will be created and performed by young dancers and choreographers 21 years and under.
Entries can be up to 5 minutes in length. Entrants perform in a heat and a panel of industry professionals invite the best works to perform in the final. Winning performances are eligible for awards such as Most Innovative Choreography, Outstanding Performer Junior and Senior and the Audience Choice Award. Finalists are also eligible for valuable industry secondment opportunities with leading dance companies.
Sharp Short Dance FILM
Sharp Short Dance festival expands with exciting dance film content and digital media.
The festival features dance films created by young dancers and choreographers 21 years and under. All works are presented on FORM’s website where audiences are invited to participate in voting for their favourite work.
Films can be up to 5 minutes in length. 3 finalist films will be chosen and eligible for the Best Film Award and Audience Choice Award presented at the livestreamed final. Finalists are also eligible for valuable industry secondment opportunities with leading dance companies.
