Fast+Fresh Dance 2011

FORM invites young choreographers and dancers to participate in Fast+Fresh Dance to be held at Riverside Theatres, Parramatta this November! The season will present numerous dance works choreographed and performed by emerging young artists.

Fast+Fresh Dance provides an opportunity for aspiring choreographers and dancers aged 21 and under to not only display their talents, but also inspire young performers to strive for their own artistic excellence and encourage active youth participation in all genres of dance.

A recent edition to the Short+Sweet dynasty of festivals, Fast+Fresh Dance presents short, new and innovative dance works, up to five minutes in length, by the dance industry’s upcoming talent. Each performance will go through one of two rounds of Heats, which will be judged nightly by a panel of industry professionals. The heat winners will present their works as part of the Final on Saturday, 19th November 2011.

Judges for 2011 Fast+Fresh Dance festival included independant dance artists Anna Healey, Sean Marcs, Melinda Tyquin, Verity Jacobsen, and Jayne McCann. Robert Love, Director Riverside Theatres and industry professionals Anca Frankenhaeuser, Patrick  Harding-Irmer and Kiri Morcombe.

Most Outstanding Choreography– “Abjuration” by Henry Steele
Best Male Dancer– Tom Woodman in “Internal…external”
Best Female Dancer– Tanya Brown in “Cerebral Confinement”
Best New Talent– Josh O’Grady for his work “Hitched?”
Audience Choice Award– “Hitched?” by Josh O’Grady
Individual Prize– project secondment with youMove Company awarded to Tanya Brown from “Cerebral Confinement”
