Fast + Fresh Dance Final Winners
Best New Talent and Audience Choice Award Josh O’Grady with Tayla Campbell
Fast + Fresh Dance was a huge success this year. Over 100 young and aspiring choreographers and dancers battled it out over 2 heats to perform in the final, on Saturday night at Riverside Theatres. Each year the bar is lifted regarding the quality of the applicants and their performances. The judges had a difficult time selecting the 13 performances to showcase their work in the final. The judges were particularly looking for innovative and original choreography.
All of the performers who made it to the heats and the final deserve recognition for their works and performances. FORM Dance Projects is proud to support this event, not only to provide a unique performance opportunity for these young talented choreographers and dancers but also to mentor and support this next generation or performers.
So the winners of the various awards received a swag of industry sponsored prizes, thanks to our many sponsors.
The winners are:
Most Outstanding Choreography – “Abjuration” by Henry Steele
Best Male Dancer – Tom Woodman in “Internal…external”
Best Female Dancer – Tanya Brown in “Cerebral Confinement”
Best New Talent – Josh O’Grady for his work “Hitched?”
Audience Choice Award – “Hitched?” by Josh O’Grady
Individual Prize – project secondment with youMove Company awarded to Tanya Brown from “Cerebral Confinement”
The audience loved the night. Hope to see you all next year!
