BAT LAKE
ELIZA COOPER

Bat Lake by Eliza Cooper is a dance work celebrating the dark, theatrical world of bats. From pollination to echolocation, the work exposes their nocturnal escapades usually hidden in the shadows. Bat Lake transforms the performance space as elegant beasts glide swiftly across a twilight stage. The work aims to bare these misunderstood creatures, bring their complex characters to life and reveal what lies beneath their mystique.

Directed by Eliza Cooper and choreographed in collaboration with Mitchell Christie, Allie Graham, Maxine Carlisle and Strickland Young. Featuring an original composition by Mason Peronchik and costumes by Eliza Cooper.

Eliza Cooper wishes to acknowledge the support of DirtyFeet during the development of Bat Lake. This project has been made possible through the support and assistance of Ausdance NSW, March Dance, Campbelltown Arts Centre, Creative Plus Business, Create NSW, Sidney Myer Fund & The Myer Foundation, The Nest Creative Space and Martyn Thompson.
