One of Australia’s leading flamenco artists, Pepa Molina, presents Strike a Chord—a bold new contemporary flamenco work exploring the electrifying dialogue between guitar and dance.
Created and directed by Molina, with an original live score performed by acclaimed flamenco guitarist Marco Van Doornum, the work strips flamenco back to its essential elements. Without a traditional singer, guitar and dance become equal storytellers in an intimate conversation driven by rhythm, tension, virtuosity and emotion.
Performed by Las Flamenkas, Compañía Pepa Molina’s ensemble of emerging and professional artists, Strike a Chord celebrates flamenco’s rich traditions while opening new possibilities for its evolution as a contemporary Australian art form.
