This year IDEA NOW, FORM’s presentation platform for independent dance, will activate the newly reopened Eternity Playhouse in Darlo.
Not once – but TWICE!
Do you dream of showcasing your work professionally in a fully-fledged theatre in front of an audience of movers and shakers? Fancy being part of IDEA, a dance festival of local and national practice in Australia. Don’t have the cash to risk on a self-produced season? We take the risk, you have the fun!
Here’s your chance to present work, free of charge, as part of IDEA’25 in the Eternity Playhouse, Sydney’s new home of independent dance.
IDEA NOW is an initiative to support the independent dance sector through free presentation opportunities and exposure to national networks, venues and festivals.

Open to All Dance Styles: Any dance discipline to welcome
Performance Duration: 7 and 15 minutes
Availability: All artists will need to be available for technical rehearsals and performances during the week of 29 September. FORM will do its best to accommodate schedules during this time, however cannot guarantee tech rehearsal times requested.

Selection Process: Admission is subject to a panel approval.
Notification: Friday, 5 September 2025. Successful artists must confirm their participation within 5 working days.
Late Confirmation: Failure to confirm within the specified time will result in your work being removed from contention and an alternate work will be selected
Technical Details
Venue: Eternity Playhouse Darlinghurst, Sydney. The stage features a tarkett floor, black backdrop, and curtains. Note: there is limited wing space at the back of the stage.
Stage Dimensions: 12m (width) x 8m-9m (depth). Note: the front of the stage is arched
Props and Set Pieces: Artists are responsible for their own props and set pieces.
Music Licensing: Artists are responsible for organizing music licensing for their performance
Additional Information
Promotional Use: By submitting your materials, you grant FORM Dance Projects the right to use photos and videos for promotional purposes of IDEA NOW only if selected.
Video Documentation: The final performance will be video documented, and participating artists will receive raw footage of their work.
