Sharp Short Dance is a dance festival for young people (21 and under) unearthing some of the best up and coming talent in Sydney. The festival celebrates the sheer joy of dance in all its forms (from classical ballet, tap, jazz, through to contemporary, hip hop, krumping and cultural dance) and encourages young aspiring choreographers and dancers to reach their own artistic excellence. FORM provides professional mentoring for the artists whose short works are selected for the final heat and provides professional development opportunities for young artists to network with industry professionals and a like-minded community of young dancers.
The short works need to be 5 minutes or under and are selected for genre-specific heats with specialist industry judges. Selected works continue to the finals to compete for awards and prizes, including industry placements with the Dream Dance Company, Sydney Dance Company and Bangarra Dance Theatre.
The judges are looking for inspiring, innovative choreography and excellence in performance.

Every entry must include a complete application form, video of the work and pay a $15 registration fee, payable by cheque, money order or by credit card. DVD, Youtube and Vimeo Submissions preferred.
